History of Hidrostal
1953:

Hidrostal SA established in Lima, Peru as a pump factory with iron and steel foundry. Today: 250 employees.

1960: The company owner, M. Stähle, invents the screw-type centrifugal impeller for handling fish and foodstuffs.
1967:

Hidrostal AG is established in Neunkirch, Switzerland by Martin Stähle (passed away in 2008). Pump components are imported from Lima and assembled in Neunkirch. Pumps are first used in the sewage sector.

1970:

today

Products are produced at the company’s own plant in Neunkirch. A new range of pumps using the screw-type centrifugal impeller is developed especially for handling sewage and sludge.

         

The Prerotation system (continuously variable regulation of delivery rate) is invented. New pump constructions are developed especially for industrial use. Continuous constructive developments in the hydraulics and flow technology fields, greater Industrial use in the chemical and sewage sectors and the non-clogging characteristics of the pumps characterize the following years. The Q-range is launched, making it possible to use smaller pumps with at least the same or an even greater output.

1991: The quality assurance system is introduced, ISO 9001. 
1991: Start of a production operation in Hungary.
1993: The same quality assurance system, ISO 9001, is introduced at the factory in Hungary
1993:





1995:
A foundry is built in Neunkirch enabling Hidrostal themselves to meet special demands for high chromium, cast stainless steel and special alloys. This makes the plant more independent and safeguards the future of Neunkirch.

Re-certification of quality assurance system according to EN ISO 9001/BS EN ISO 9001
1996: A new Paint plant, ecologically and economically optimised, is built in Neunkirch.
1998: Certification of assurance system ISO 14001 Environment.
1998:
A new office building is opened in Neunkirch
1999: Certification of EKAS (Work safety)
2000:

A new, larger factory in Hungary is opened (production, assembling, administration and sales).

2001: A new Production factory with large pump test bay is opened in Qingdao/China.
2004: A new foundry in Neunkirch, Switzerland is opened.

Hidrostal Neunkirch is celebrating its 40th anniversary
Passing away of founder and inventor Martin Stähle. Board of directors and management of the company are reformed.

Approx. 135 employees are currently employed in Neunkirch, there are approx. 650 employees worldwide.
